Knowla Remote makes remote and hybrid teaching with Knowla devices possible. The app also provides many useful features during classroom activities that will make your work even more convenient.
What is Knowla Remote?
This is an application for your Android, Windows macOS or iOS device that will allow you to connect online to your Knowla device and:
- remotely control Knowla devices
- share the screen view of your computer
- stream video from the camera
- transmit microphone sound
How to conduct remote classes with Knowla Remote?
Install the Knowla Remote app and connect to a Knowla device from anywhere using the Add New option .
Depending on your needs, you can lecture by displaying your presentation or other materials on the Knowla device. By turning on the camera and microphone, you will be seen and heard. Knowla devices do not have built-in cameras and microphones, so if you wanted to start a discussion, you would need to connect additional devices.
In a remote workshop, you can encourage participants to work on the device, and you will be able to view their activities on your computer. You can watch their progress in the planetary applications of the Educational Universe, or you can show them the activity yourself. You are also able to control the fun, interrupting at appropriate moments and pointing out the right exercise for the moment.
Knowla Remote will also be great for situations where one member of the group cannot be present in person at the class. By connecting through Knowla Remote, he or she will no longer miss a lesson or play on Knowla activities.

How to use Knowla Remote? – brief user guide
If you already have the app on your device, launch it by clicking on the icon on your tablet/phone or on your computer. If the app window does not appear on your computer screen, it may be running in the background, but has remained minimized. Try launching the app from the taskbar.

Once launched, you’ll see this view of the app (in the screenshot from the PC version, but the mobile version looks similar). The list will show all Knowla devices on the same network as your devices (with “on the network”) and all previously saved devices (with “active”/“inactive” depending on whether they are enabled). If your device is not on the list, then click Add New and enter the Knowla device’s serial number there (you’ll find it on the sticker on the device or when you go to settings in the Knowla app).
Note that the Knowla device must be updated to the latest version and running to connect it to Knowla Remote.

When you click on a device, you can:
- take control – remotely control the Knowla device
- share your screen – display your screen on Knowla device (Windows only)
- edit the device name in the Knowla Remote application
- remove device from the list

After taking control or screen sharing, you need to confirm your desire to connect remotely on the Knowla device. During the connection, you can switch between modes (taking control vs. screen sharing) without reconnecting. You can also then connect audio-video (with the camera and microphone of your device).
In the phone/tablet app, after taking control, we can decide whether we want to: control the screen (Knowla’s device screen will appear and we can click on it) or control the touchpad (the screen will turn into a touchpad similar to those on laptops). The application also has a built-in keyboard.
In the application for the computer (Windows, macOS), we can control the screen with the keyboard and mouse of our own device.
In the settings tab on the start page, you can: change the name of your device in Knowla Remote, set audio-video sources, set the application language.
