It was with Knoocker that it all began, or rather, with ultrasounds inaudible by our ear.
What is Knoocker?
Knoocker is a company that launched its operations on November 21, 2014. It was founded by Dr. Krzysztof Krzywdzinski (assistant professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Adam Mickiewicz University). He initiated work on ultrasonic technology, the Knowla Wall device, games and educational applications including those supporting programming learning.
Knoocker is currently represented by the Knowla brand.
Ultrasonic technology and balls
At the very beginning, Knoocker’s business focused on innovative ultrasonic technology, where recorders capture the sound of a ball bouncing against a wall, and then use special software to determine the location of the impact. Through this process, interaction can be conducted with the digital experience displayed.
Currently, ultrasonic technology is used in Knowla Wall and Knowla Box devices. In turn, the orange balls themselves became the symbol of the entire company for a time.
Interesting fact: The very name Knoocker has its origin precisely from the English “knock,” the knocking sound that can be heard when throwing balls against a wall.
Knowla Wall
Knowla Wall, and formerly Knoocker Classic or Magic Wall, is the first multimedia device to put ultrasonic technology into practice.
It consists of a stable structure, equipped with a computer and a projector. You could throw balls at it without worry. Ultrasonic pens were also available, which, when pressed, emitted certain sounds that were picked up by recorders (now replaced in favor of Epson pens).

Happy playing with balls in playrooms
In addition to the multimedia device itself, a number of games were developed to engage children and adults alike to play together. You can still find a few of them in Planet Fruu’s Launch Planet.
The Knowla Wall device has appeared in many playrooms, hotels, and is even available and very popular at the Malta Thermal Baths, bringing smiles to faces for more than 10 years.

Cooperation with Epson
An important part of Knowl’s equipment is the projector. So we opted for a best-in-class solution. The image displayed by Epson projectors remains clear even in bright rooms. In addition, the laser display technology does not fatigue the eyes much even during prolonged use. The projectors we use are also characterized by performance and reliability.
Currently, our cooperation with Epson is not only limited to the projectors themselves, but also to the promotion of multimedia technology in Europe and beyond.
Knowla Box (and formerly Knoocker Box)
There was a need for a smaller sized device and one that could also display images in two planes (vertical/horizontal). Thus the Knowla Box was born.
It is a mobile multimedia device that can be worked on any wall or floor. It is equipped with ultrasonic technology that allows ball interaction. You can also use two Epson interactive pens.

Educational Universe
With the new device also came new capabilities, and so new multimedia applications became necessary. These took the form of activities designed for balls, pens and clever play, and were later compiled into larger collections called the planet.
Thus was born the Educational Universe, which currently consists of 17 planets. Each of them fulfills different educational and therapeutic purposes and contributes to the development of various skills or competencies.

Knowla uprising and smart play
The establishment of Educational Universe has contributed somewhat to a change in the company’s direction. We opened up more strongly to a new educational path, set by edutainment. Smart entertainment has become our benchmark, which is to provide new knowledge and develop various competencies through cheerful play.
For this reason, we decided to rebrand and establish the Knowla brand. For almost two years, we have been striving to prepare unique digital experiences that fit into the vision of modern education.

Knowla.edu is only the first of the directions we have on the horizon. We are also preparing special packages to return to our entertainment roots on the one hand, and to support adults or the elderly during rehabilitation on the other. We will certainly tell you more about all this soon.
